Connect, Learn, and Discover with Australia’s Native Bees

At Bee Yourself, we believe in the power of nature to educate, heal, and connect. My passion is bringing the magic of Australia’s native stingless bees to groups of all ages and backgrounds. These gentle, fascinating creatures are completely stingless and totally safe, making them the perfect partners for interactive learning, therapeutic discovery, and fostering a sense of wonder.

We provide engaging, hands-on experiences tailored to suit the unique needs of your group.

Our packages are flexible and can be tailored for any audience. We have experience working with a wide range of groups, including:

Educational Groups:

  • Kindergartens and Childcare Centres
  • Primary Schools (all year levels)
  • High Schools (ideal for Science, Biology, and Sustainability subjects)
  • University & TAFE (Horticulture, Environmental Science)

Community & Wellbeing Groups:

  • Adult & Community Groups (e.g., garden clubs, libraries, Probus)
  • Aged Care Facilities
  • Disability Support Services
  • Hospitals and Health Services
  • Mental Health Facilities
  • Detention Centres & Correctional Services

Engaging Talks & Demonstrations

Perfect for school assemblies, community groups, garden clubs, or professional development days. These sessions (typically 45-60 minutes) are a fantastic introduction to the world of native stingless bees.

Topics can include:

  • The fascinating life of stingless bees.
  • Their vital role as native pollinators.
  • The cultural significance of bees in Australia.
  • Simple ways we can all support native pollinators.
  • A close-up look at a live, secure observation hive.

Hands-On Workshops

Dive deeper with an interactive workshop (typically 1-2 hours). These are designed to be fully hands-on, encouraging participation, curiosity, and teamwork.

Workshop themes can include:

  • A Beekeeper’s Introduction: Learn the basics of stingless beekeeping, including hive structure, honey, and seasonal care.
  • Honey Tasting & Harvesting: A delicious session exploring the unique medicinal honey produced by native bees (seasonal).
  • Build-a-Bee-Hotel: A popular workshop where participants create their own “bee hotel” to attract solitary native bees to their own gardens.
  • Pollinator Gardens: Learn which native plants support bees and other pollinators, and how to create a “bee-friendly” space.

Therapeutic & Educational Programs

Drawing on my extensive background in outdoor-adventure therapy and community support, these programs are designed to be more than just educational—they can be restorative.

We use the gentle, mindful practice of observing bees as a tool for connection, calm, and engagement. These sessions are ideal for fostering well-being, sensory exploration, and moments of quiet focus in diverse environments.
